About Linda Ross
History is us! With a generous helping of storytelling and a history geek’s passion for research, I strive to deliver a compelling and immersive read for you.
Wielding my puny B.A, I waded into the employment pool to wear an eclectic array of career hats: symphony musician, automobile salesperson, clerical, public speaking consultant, media account representative, media planner, copy writer, regional theatre and opera, human resources, and a deep dive into corporate land’s learning & development. Along the way, I collected wide-eyed observations and juicy human tidbits for future stories.
My writer’s soul simmered for years. I volunteered to transform lackluster department newsletters, independently enlivened boring managerial curriculum and created endless limericks in the margins of spreadsheets during zombie-inducing meetings.
My passion for storytelling extends beyond the printed pages. Find me performing with the Legendary Ladies, an educational troupe bringing women of the West to life with short monologues in full costume. Research! Audience connection! Authentic costumes! It is a history geek’s dream.
As a volunteer storyteller in the schools, I love keeping the historical tradition of oral storytelling alive. Yes, my dear first-graders, a story only needs an adept teller and an audience.
My heart beats in triple time when wandering museums and ruins. Can you hear the voices? People just like us, wanting to let us know they existed.
It is magic.
